Contrary to Solar Photo Voltaic technology that converts Solar Energy into Electricity, the present technology uses concentrated solar heat to generate steam and run a conventional ‘Rankin Cycle’ based power plant, important features of the technology are enumerated as follows.

Description: - The process of power generation is completed in two distinct cycles, first one is the Heat Collection Cycle, and other is the Power Cycle. Thus the process is known to be Binary Cycle Power Plant.
Heat Collection Cycle: - Concentrated Solar Heat is concentrated through the PTC/ LFR Fresnel solar field, and thus a suitable Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF) which is heated to high temperature and stored in adequate Heat Storage Tanks. The Heat Collection Cycle operates 8 Hr/Day.
Power Cycle: - In the evaporating heat exchangers the working fluid is evaporated and super-heated up to its super critical parameters of pressure and temperature. The said working fluid is then used to turn the Rankin Cycle based Power Plant, thus the Electricity is generated. The Power Cycle runs 24X7 therefore the regular power is made available, to achieve up to 100% PLF.
In present CSP system Solar irradiation is concentrated 180 times by means of the Linier Fresnel Solar Concentrators, on a receiver tube, which is situated in the common focal line of a Solar Collector Module (SCM) Trough adequate arrangement of reflector mirrors. Therefore the said vacuum receiver tube attains high temperature, and the heat is thus picked up by a suitable Thermic Oil (HTF), flowing inside the receiver tubes, and channelized there-from to the Heat Bank of the Plant to be stored at about 360-400°C) of the Heat Storage System.
Metallic pressure vessels are used to store heat in appropriate storage media the design capacity of the storage system is adequate enough to ensure overnight operation of the plant on full swing.
The Power Plant is a conventional Rankin Cycle Power Plant, in which the steam is generated in the appropriate boiler heat exchangers by utilization of the solar heat which is further used to run the Turbine and so connected Electric Generator.
Transformer and Switch Yard
The Electric Power is step up and synchronized to tune with the Grid and the generated power is fed into grid line to be channelized to the point of consumption.
